Heather Williams » 8th & 9th Grade Science, Science Olympiad, VEX Robotics, RtI Coordinator

8th & 9th Grade Science, Science Olympiad, VEX Robotics, RtI Coordinator

Heather Williams is beginning her eighth year teaching Science.  She has a BS degree in Integrated Studies with a focus on American Sign Language Interpreting and a MAT in Secondary Science Education with an emphasis in Biology.  She worked in three different districts before coming to LPA where she has found a love for this school.

She has taught 7th Grade Integrated Science, 8th Grade Integrated Science, Earth Systems/Earth Science, Biology, and American Sign Language.  She works with USBE and UEN on a regular basis to increase the quality of science education in Utah.

Mrs. Williams loves Geology and Biology and working with 8th grade is her favorite age group.  She is excited to help students learn HOW to solve problems and find reliable answers rather than a memorization of facts.  Her classes will follow in the steps of Socrates this year.  They will explore ideas and discuss their limitations as well as engage in discussion to add to their current understanding of science.

First Term Cutoff

Hello!
A science update for you -
I have entered in all of the work that was turned in with a name on it as of this afternoon other than things that were assigned yesterday or today in class. Please check your student's grade in OnePoint. Next Friday, October 12, is the cutoff for corrections and late work.
9th Grade has a test Monday or Tuesday. It will go on 1st term, be handed back Wed/Th, and be correctable through the 15th.
Thanks!
Heather Williams
