Language Arts Teacher

J. Michael Bailey is a Utah native.  He graduated from Clearfield High school and earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Weber State University. Mr. Bailey is currently a graduate student at WSU, earning his Master’s degree in Creative Writing.


Mr. Bailey spent the past twenty years traveling the United States and Canada as a stage actor and singer/songwriter. He loves music, poetry, flash fiction and the great outdoors. 


This is Mr. Bailey’s first year at Legacy Preparatory Academy. He is thrilled to be teaching 8th and 9th grade Language Arts and is excited to be part of the LPA family!

Welcome back students!!! Let's hit the road running.  This week we'll pass out your novels and begin taking the text apart.  We will work on a couple short grammar assignments and your final "Article of the Week" mid-week as well. Remember, this is the last week to turn in work for this term.  If you have any concerns, come see me. So excited to see you all. 

Poetry OutLoud! It's gettin' real!

You should have made your selections by now and memorizing them. I have extended the memorization date to Monday, January 14th.  Please be fully memorized and ready to perform your pieces in class during the week.
